Massage Therapy Benefits

At Reddy Care Physical, Occupational and Aquatic Therapy, we offer a combination of physical therapy services that are either active or passive. Active treatment focuses on the patient performing specific tasks while passive treatment focuses on the patient receiving care rather than participating in it. Massage therapy is a type of passive treatment. Physical therapists are trained in therapeutic massage.

Massage therapy involves a trained massage therapist to use different movements, pressures and techniques to manipulate the muscles and soft tissues of the body. The biggest purpose of massage therapy is muscle relaxation. Massage therapy helps to target the body’s pain helping to eliminate tense muscles, increasing flexibility, and providing relaxation. Athletes, young toddlers, adults, and seniors can benefit from massage therapy.
