Treat your Low Back Pain!

Physical Therapy can help reduce low back pain!

The lower back provides structural support to the body and even helps protect certain body tissue. We rely on the lower back to support the weight of our upper body when we stand, making it more prone to pain and injury. Lower back pain can be temporary or linger and become chronic. Chronic back pain can have a severe impact on your daily life and make it difficult to perform everyday tasks.

There are many different causes of lower back pain. Sciatica, pain in the sciatic nerve, is a common cause of lower back pain. It could also be the result of injury or sprain. Women during pregnancy may experience temporary lower back pain due to the added weight. Scoliosis or certain spinal deformities can also cause lower back pain. Whatever the cause, it’s important to take proper care and get the right treatment to prevent recurrence or further damage.

Physical therapy is usually an important part of your treatment plan for managing your lower back pain. Physical therapy can help you improve your overall strength and balance, alleviating your back pain and helping to prevent reinjury.  Your physical therapist will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan based on your symptoms and the cause of your pain. Back pain treatment will generally include exercises and stretches to improve muscle control, and aerobic conditioning to improve endurance. To manage pain symptoms your physical therapist may use heat and cold therapy to reduce inflammation. Ultrasound therapy may also be used to stimulate the healing of deep tissue.

The therapists at Reddy Care Physical and Occupational Therapy are very skilled in treating different types of low back pain. Our physical therapists will work with you, creating a treatment plan to bring you relief and alleviate your back pain. We also have a team of occupational therapists who can help you make adjustments, and lifestyle changes, that will prevent recurrence of injury in the future.
